Alpha Flight Services brought Ovato Creative Services onboard to utilise the creative agency to design Virgin Australia’s first Duty Free In-Flight magalogue.

Virgin Airlines wanted the magalogue to be read and handled like a magazine, while at the same time it needed to generate revenue for onboard retail. This was the challenge, how to draw their audience in and captivate them with genuine editorial content and new an interesting products to promote sales.

Results.

The Virgin Australia duty free magalogue reflects a fashionable and contemporary magazine which is intended to be browsed, read and evoke intrigue in the audience about the latest products available through Virgin Australia Duty Free, coupled with thought-provoking editorial content. Like the Virgin Australia brand, the aesthetic of the magazine is intended to be stylish, vibrant and confident.

The magalogue launched successfully on the Hong Kong and LAX routes and generated sales that complimented the creation of the magalogue. Ovato Creative Agency picked up a 2018 Gold Muse Creative Award for the design as well as being shortlisted as a finalist for the 2018 Australasian Catalogue Awards for the creative.
